Shop Til You Pop

You can't judge a video by its content, according to rising pop princess Willa Ford. The 20-year-old may look like a vixen in her new video, "I Wanna Be Bad," but inside, she's like any other girl. We tagged along with the blonde beauty recently when she hit the streets of New York on her quest for the ultimate shopping experience. After checking out a few stores, we learned that this pop diva has a take it or leave it attitude when it comes to her sexy stage persona.

Diva Don'ts She may want to be bad, but Willa certainly doesn't want to look bad. Like everyone else, she has her likes and dislikes when it comes to certain clothing items. "You'll never see me in a pair of shorts. I just don't like them," she stated firmly. The singer explained that her video was a one-time shot, and she was forced to don a pair of shorts in order to work that bad-girl persona we recently spotted on MTV. And MTV isn't the only place where Willa can be seen. Guys across the country are going gaga over the August issue of Stuff magazine, which features the bikini-clad singer on the cover.

Casual Over Chic If you think leather minis and stiletto heels are a style must for a pop star on the go, you can fugeddaboudit! Like any other girl with a busy schedule, comfort is a priority. Willa nearly gave us a heart attack when she zeroed in on some cool pants she just had to have. "I am loving these sweatpants! I'm so wearing these to workout," she enthused. Willa went on to tell us that her pants of choice are "kind of tight and flared at the bottom." A perfect pick since it's one of this season's hottest looks.

Trendsetting vs. Trend-Watching Willa is a firm believer in being a trendsetter instead of a trend watcher. "I start my own trends," she explained. "I buy my own jeans and tops and cut them up and do whatever I want with them." A good idea considering the coolest look for rock stars these days is dirty, distressed and frayed. As for the ultimate rock-star accessory, Willa clued us in to a little style secret: "On tired days, I wear sunglasses with a blue tint because they conceal everything." Thanks for the cool point, Wil! In the end, we had a blast hangin' out with Willa all day, and we're happy to report that it doesn't matter if you're making an album or buying one -- in the end, a sale is still a sale.
