A Rising Star Makes an Impact

On May 2nd I received the honor to interview two of the members of Sacred Virtue. South Florida's hottest new musical group. During my interview with founding members, 17 year-old Jennifer Vasquez and 16 year-old Suzie Petite-homme, I discovered an interesting fact.

I questioned the girls on their role models and people in the industry that they looked up to. I was quite surprised to hear the girls say Willa Ford. Why? because Willa Ford is such a new artist. Her first single "I Wanna Be Bad" hit airwaves a few weeks ago. Although it is blowing up radios all over Florida I wondered how she could have made such an impact on these girls.

"It doesn't matter how long you have been out. Having longevity doesn't make you a good or bad artist," Vasquez said. "We admire her for her talent and her attitude."

According to both girls Willa Ford has many attributes. Including her somewhat blunt honesty. "It's important to stay true to yourself and that is what she is doing. She gets a lot of crap for no reason, but she doesn't let it get to her," Petite-homme said. "The music industry is a hard industry to be in. Most of the time young women get pushed around, but she taking a charge. She knows what she wants and she is working her butt off to get it. I wish her the best," Vasquez said in Ford's defense.

After this revelation I have decided to write up the full interview in the next edition of Teen Steam.
